Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has suggested that, contrary to all expectations, ever, there’s a possibility, a chance, a hope that, at some point in the future following the release of the Tomb Raider reboot, there might actually – gasp! – be even more Tomb Raider games. I know, it’s like, nobody could have predicted this.
“I have to be careful because I know exactly where she’s going,” global brand director Karl Stewart told VideoGamer, hinting that a sequel may already be in development.
“You have to look at the future, you have to look at where… It’s not just one game. At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She’s going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we’re going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That’s the goal.”
Stewart wouldn’t reveal more about what’s coming up next, though.
“I don’t want to say anymore on it because I’ll have the game director of the next game going ‘what the **** are you saying!?'”
So there you have it. Fingers crossed, everybody, and don’t forget to wish upon a star. In the meantime, Tomb Raider will be out on 5 March 2013.
