Nintendo 3DS XL: South African pricing and release date

3 July 2012

Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS XL handheld, the bigger brother of the current 3DS system, has been slapped with a price and release date for local gamers.

The bigger-screened handheld will hit our shores on 28 July, which is now less than a month away.

In terms of the damage, the extra-large 3DS is set to cost around R2,349 (RRP).

We do know that the 3DS XL will come with a 4GB SD card in the box, and will be available in blue, red or silver. However, an AC adapter will not be included as Nintendo expects a majority of its new owners to be upgrading from an existing Nintendo handheld.

Check out the announcement, from the creepy yet informative Reggie Fils-Aimes, and get a good glimpse of the new handheld below:

Good use of an app like AppShopper will save you huge cash over time versus expensive games on the 3DS.
