You’ve played Beneath a Steel Sky, obviously*. I mean, it’s only one of the coolest cyberpunk point ‘n’ click adventure games ever made in the 1990s. Technically, it’s probably also the only cyberpunk point ‘n’ click adventure game made in the 1990s, unless you count Westwood’s 1997 adaptation of Blade Runner, but that’s more noir than anything else.
ANYWAY.
Two of the guys who made Beneath a Steel Sky – artist Dave Gibbons and game designer Charles Cecil – are working together again on a new project.
“We’re developing something – I really shouldn’t say anything more about it – but it’s something I’m quite excited about and it’s in an area I don’t think has been explored, and it isn’t France, and it isn’t Paris and it isn’t catacombs,” Gibbons told Eurogamer.
“With the new game I’m going to be involved from the ground up. I have had story input and the whole thing will have my imprint on it. Even if I don’t hands-on do every bit of artwork, I certainly will direct the look of the whole thing.”
Maximum excite, people. Now all we need is a remake of that Blade Runner game, because that game was awesome.
* You’re here because you haven’t, have you? Look, I won’t tell anybody if you click over to GOG right now and get it. It’s free. It’ll be our secret.
