SA Dota 2 tournament launched by Mweb GameZone, 10ten Gaming

10ten Gaming, a newly formed organization with the aim of hosting independent gaming tournaments, had teamed up with MWEB GameZone.

10ten will be bringing SA Gamers MWEB’s inaugural Dota 2 Cup, marking their debut into the competitive gaming scene.

The event will run over 49 days, with a minimum of 38 matches occurring in that time-frame. MWEB is offering prizes to the teams who finish first and second, in the form of Steam credit. The prize structure sees the winner walking away with $125 in Steam credit, with the first runner-up winning $75 in Steam credit.

The event is structured such that a minimum of 16 teams are required to enter. Any teams over and above the minimum could possibly be catered for, said 10ten Gaming.

2012 Inaugural MWEB Dota 2 Tournament Schedule

  • Registration Closes: 08 July, 2012 at 13H00.
  • Announcement of Pool Seeding: 08 July, 2012 at 18H00.
  • Announcement of Teams Progressing to “Play-Offs”: 22 July, 2012 at 18H00.
  • Tournament Finals: 26 August, 2012 at 19H00.

    I had a buddy who was balls-crazy for DotA – so much so that I just got switched off because he wouldn’t shut up about it…but this looks pretty cool, is it worth a look?
