It’s hard to not love Uncharted. The series has sparked other developers to kick it into gear if they want to compete with Naughty Dog’s cinematic action/adventure franchise.
Polish studio The farm51 definitely love Uncharted, even if they don’t want to admit it. Their new game, “Adventurer”, features a good-looking male treasure-hunter and elderly moustachioed sidekick as they travel into a jungle in search of a lost artifact. Hmmmm… sounds familiar.
Innuendos aside, it’s a lot like Uncharted – but that doesn’t matter, because it looks good, as the Adventurer takes the form of a first-person shooter with puzzle elements and exploration, mixing it up with some supernatural elements along the way.
“Adventure shooter in first-person perspective allows players to feel like treasure hunters and adventurers. The combination of dynamic gunfights, engaging storyline, ingenious traps and mechanisms ensure an unforgettable experience of a native of Indiana Jones movies,” reads the game description on the official site.
Multiplayer will also play a role in Adventurer, and although details are scarce, the game will release for Xbox 360 and PC next year, unless Sony steps in and cries “copy-cat”.
