Talks of a big-screen God of War adaptation have been around for a while now, but after the project looked like it wasn’t going anywhere, Universal have announced a new writing duo for the film.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will rewrite the God of War script, which was originally done by David Self, who now fills the boots of executive producer.
Melton and Dunstan are best known for their writing work on multiple instalments in the Saw horror franchise, as well as writing the screenplay for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming sci-fi film, Pacific Rim.
Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are producing the movie through Atlas Entertainment.
While the God of War movie originally looked to be a victim of Hollywood game-to-movie adaptation, it looks as if the Ghost of Sparta will be making his cinema debut.
