Grand Theft Auto V screenshots to please fans

Eager gamers and fans of virtual vehicular robbery have been poking and probing Rockstar for months in order to get some sort of information or content about GTA V.

Well, Rockstar caved, and have released 2 screenshots of the upcoming open-world action game showing not a lot of action, but some impressive visuals nonetheless.

One screenshot shows a helicopter flying over Los Santos, giving a glimpse at a small portion of the expectantly enormous cityscape.

The second image shows a lake with incredible impressive reflections along the water. The quality and fidelity of these screenshots are definitely some of the most impressive we’re seeing from developer.

A Rockstar rep also said that they know gamers are becoming impatient, but progress with the game is coming along well:

As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans’ ‘don’t respect our fans’ ‘hate GTA fans etc’ – precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it. The only things we care about are that you enjoy the experience of actually playing the game and that we release accurate information.

Nothing was said with regards to a release date, although with the rep also adding the trailer will not be around for a while yet, it seems as though it might wind up being a 2013 release.
