Microsoft has assured PC users that the upcoming Windows 8 OS will arrive on time, as scheduled.
The latest version will release on 26 October, which is almost exactly three years since the launch of the current iteration, Windows 7.
PC users will be able to upgrade their systems on release, or buy new systems with Windows 8 already pre-installed.
Microsoft are not ones to announce something long in-advance, but the company has made it evident that a new version of Windows will release every three years.
