Borderlands 2 finished, off to the printers

20 July 2012

In a year that’s already seen more delays than I could count on my hand (and so couldn’t count at all, ’cause momma tole me trappin’ skags were more important than learnin’ my numbers), Borderlands has apparently been finished a whole two months ahead of its 21 September launch date. That’s just in time to get through final testing and platform certification and manufacturing and all that other stuff that has to happen before it lands up in my Xbox disc tray and never leaves.

“The game is finished and we cannot make any further changes to the game,” writes community manager Chris Faylor over on the studio’s Gearboxity blog.

“As such, the team is now shifting their focus towards post-launch efforts, including the Mechromancer: the new character class that will be released as FREE downloadable content to members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club roughly 60 to 90 days after launch.”

Membership in the prestigious Borderlands 2 Premiere Club can be bought for the price of a Borderlands 2 pre-order at your nearest retailer, so maybe you should get on that right now. Maybe I should too.

And then, maybe read more of our Borderlands 2 coverage while you wait for it to arrive.
