SA provincial StarCraft II champions announced

Over the weekend of 21-22 July 2012, PolarfluKe hosted the MSSA Online StarCraft II Championship.

The tournament was a provincial championship, therefore awarding colours, medals and qualification rights to future National team trials.

MSSA’s South African team trials will be taking place in September 2012, and qualifiers will be shipped-off to compete at the International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) World Championship 2012 in South Korea.

MSSA’s Online StarCraft II Championships results

Premier

1st – Nathan “StatiC” Anderson (PolarfluKe)
2nd – Marius “Stripe” van der Merwe (PolarfluKe)
3rd – Duncan “Skiblet” Frickel (PolarfluKe)

Women

1st – Gabriela “Gabybear” Isaacs (Sahet)
2nd – Lisinda “Prinses” Gericke (Knights Mind Sports Club)

School

1st – Nathan “StatiC” Anderson (Home schooled)
2nd – Liam “Intuition” Finnie (Elkanah House High School)
3rd – Luke “Lntlulzalott” Schwartzkopff (South African College School)

Best female: Gabriela “Gabybear” Isaacs (Saheti)

Colours

Provincial Colours and School Provincial Colours are awarded to Nathan “StatiC” Anderson for having won all his games in both the Provincial and School Provincial Championships.

School Provincial Colours are awarded to Liam “Intuition” Finnie (Elkanah House High School) for having finished in the top half of gamers in both the Provincial and School Provincial Championships.

Gamers who finished in the top three (of both the male and female sections) automatically qualify for the National Team Trials which are to be hosted on 1 September 2012. It is at the Team Trials that the IeSF 2012 South African team will be chosen

MSSA will announce soon the full list of current 2012 National Team tTials qualifiers.
