Nintendo infographic celebrates the company’s success

Following the video game industry crash of 1983, Nintendo helped spur a revival with the release of the company’s first home console, the Nintendo Entertainment System. The NES, an 8-bit video game console bundled with Super Mario Bros, went on to sell more than 60 million units worldwide to date, igniting trend that Nintendo have not let up on.

While one or two of Nintendo’s consoles or handhelds may have underachieved Nintendo’s own internal goals, they still impress in the market and leave their competitors worrying every time something new is announced.

To celebrate Nintendo’s history of console sales, the company has put together a rather intriguing infographic which puts the colossal numbers the company has achieved into perspective.
