SA National Team for ieSF World Championships announced

The 2012 IeSF World Championships will be held in Cheon-an City, South Korea from the 4th to 8th of October 2012, and the MSSA will be sending a team for both StarCraft II and TEKKEN consisting of one male and one female for both games.

There are 27 players that qualify for the team trials from 9 clubs, representing five provinces.

Since the Gauteng Province has the most qualifiers (13), the trials shall therefore be held in the Gauteng Province on 1 September 2012.

The prize money at the IeSF in 2012 is:

A.V.A.: total of KRW 20,000,000

  • 1st place: KRW 10,000,000
  • 2nd place: KRW 6,000,000
  • 3rd place: KRW 4,000,000

Tekken: total of KRW 5,000,000

  • 1st place: KRW 2,500,000
  • 2nd place: KRW 1,500,000
  • 3rd place: KRW 1,000,000

Starcraft2: total of KRW 5,000,000

  • 1st place: KRW 2,500,000
  • 2nd place: KRW 1,500,000
  • 3rd place: KRW 1,000,000

Notes

Please note that all players who enter trials must note the following:

The standard form together with the duly completed questionnaire must be submitted at the Trials.

The qualifying player has submitted a photocopy of the front four pages of their South African passport, and a photocopy of the front two pages of their South African identity document. Should any of these documents be outstanding at the date of trials, such player will automatically be disqualified from being selected.

The player is a South African citizen.

Team members are expected to travel together as a team.

Please note that should you be selected for the team, you shall be barred from participation in any sporting event, other than a MSSA event, between the date of selection and the date of the event for which you have been chosen.

Players that enter must be aware of their obligations in terms of participating in local events as well as in terms of umpiring as failure to do so may result in such player not being selected in the following year.
