Skyrim Dawnguard expansion launched for PC

3 August 2012

After a whole lot of maybe, maybe not from Bethesda last week, the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dawnguard expansion has suddenly dropped on Steam for PC, so gamers who want to play-play vampires and vampire hunters can finally do their thing.

The expansion adds loads of stuff to the game, including new gear, spells, and Dragon Shouts, and new places to go and kill things with them. Most significantly, the DLC also features the opportunity to join the vampire hunting team Dawnguard, or even become a Vampire Lord if that’s more to your liking. Will you choose Team Jacob or Team Edward? Your decision will change the course of history. Kind of. Until you replay it, anyway.

Dawnguard is tagged at $19.99 on Steam, while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is also half off for the next few hours in case you don’t already own it and want to double-up.

No word yet when (or even whether) the expansion will ever launch on PS3, though. Hang in there, people.
