Four years after its original launch on Xbox LIVE Arcade and two years after dropping onto the PlayStation Network, Behemoth’s instant-classic side-scrolling medieval-’em-up Castle Crashers is finally busting onto PC. Or in the immortal words of Vanessa Williams:
And now we’re standing face to face
Isn’t this world a crazy place
Just when I thought our chance had passed
You go and save the best for last…
Behemoth has confirmed that the game will be released on Steam sometime later this year, featuring integrated voice chat, Steam Cloud support, achievements, and both online and local multiplayer. Local multiplayer on PC? Behemoth <3s U 4eva.
You’ll also be able to use a controller, so none of that key-jamming business.
The news comes via the Behemoth blog, but it seems that – for the moment, anyway – everybody on the internet is clicking through and the page has crashed. “Crashed”, get it?
The PC version is apparently already on show at Gamescom, and will also be at PAX next week alongside Behemoth’s new Xbox LIVE Arcade game BattleBlock Theater. No launch date has been announced, but according to Behemoth it’s “almost here!”, so… it’s almost here. Until then, I bet that awful song is stuck in your head now. My work here is done.
