Signs point to Activision launching their major 2012 blockbuster, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, on Wii U. And by signs pointing, I mean a poor fellow called Randall who gave the whole thing away by accident.
Randall is a Treyarch QA tester, who stated on his LinkedIn CV that he is currently a “QA tester for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” and that “duties include QA testing on PS3 and Wii U, multiplayer testing while collaborating with team, ad hoc testing, and regression”.
Oh, Randall.
Of course this isn’t a major surprise considering reports back in June of a Black Ops 2 preview in an issue of Nintendo Gamer.
With the Wii U sure to make waves, it makes sense for Activision to bring their biggest multi-platform title to the next-generation. Analyst Arvind Bhatia has said previously that he believes the game will be making its way to Wii U in time for the holiday season, and should boost sales of both the title and also the console itself. No doubt Nintendo is chuffed with having such a big name title to go with their launch.
We know Black Ops 2 will be landing in November, as is Activision’s standard practise to capitalise on Christmas sales, but Nintendo has yet to set a firm release date for the Wii U (possibly due to complications with manufacturing the controller). We do know however, that it will be sometime later this year.
