Erotic game “Seduce Me” booted-off Steam Greenlight

An indie game which embraces adult and erotic themes has been kicked-off of Steam Greenlight, and the developers are not too-happy.

Titled “Seduce Me”, the game is built as an erotic dating simulator, and contains a fair amount of nudity, adult language, sexual themes, and adult situations. Amsterdam-based indie developer No Reply Games wanted a boost through Valve’s new launching platform, but things didn’t go as planned.

“We submitted the game on Thursday, when Steam Greenlight launched,” said No Reply Games’ Miriam Bellard. “[Valve] took it down almost straight away,” she said.

“Many people still view games as ‘for children’ in spite of the fact that the average gamer is 30 years old,” added Bellard.

The game was pulled-down due to “violating Steam or Greenlight’s terms”, as Valve spokesperson Doug Lombardi said “”Steam has never been a leading destination for erotic material. Greenlight doesn’t aim to change that.”

In response, No Reply Games co-founder Andrejs Skuja expressed his unhappiness with the omission of their game despite the industry’s fetish for violence.

“The gaming establishment is fine with violence and gore but is uncomfortable with sexual themes”, said Skuja.

Do you think games like Seduce Me should be allowed to appear on platforms such as Steam’s Greenlight?
