New Black Ops 2 video shows off wingsuits and general insanity

Most of the media attention of the last week or so has revolved around hardware releases such as the Wii U and the iPhone 5. However, Activision isn’t going to let everyone off quite that easily – it’s almost November, and you all know what that means – the annual Call of Duty release is nearly upon us, this time courtesy of Treyarch in the form of Black Ops 2.

To get the hype machine chugging again, a new Call of Duty single-player showcase video has just been released. To Treyarch’s credit, they’re trying hard to keep the franchise fresh with new additions to gameplay.

The video marks the debut of the wingsuit, which will have players flying their way through canyons and feeling like a badass. A crop of vehicles are also on display, including armoured hummers and speedboats.

It’s short and sweet, but they’ve crammed as much action as possible into 31 seconds – at some point you appear to be piloting some kind of futuristic gunship, another scene has you involuntarily tumbling from an aeroplane. It looks action-packed, unrealistic and generally insane, which is kind of what fans have come to expect from the series. Also, there’s a minigun with night-vision, because why not. Check it out:
