Borderlands 2, F1 2012 SA retail launch delayed

19 September 2012

Megarom Interactive announced today (19 September 2012) that due to unforeseen circumstances, the retail launch of Borderlands 2 and F1 2012 has been delayed to Thursday, 27th September – pushed back a week from it’s original 21 September launch date.

Megarom said that “complications in shipping have arisen and are out of the distributor’s control. Due to these issues, shipping stock to South Africa in time for the expected dates will be unrealistic.”

“Megarom prides itself on releasing games that are in-line with European release dates, and it’s unfortunate that we have been forced to push out the release of these two highly anticipated titles,” said Philip Court CEO of Megarom Interactive.

“Unfortunately there are times that things go wrong and we [Megarom] will do our best to work around these issues to ensure they are resolved as quickly as possible.”

Megarom said that the new release date ensures that all stock will arrive timeously and be sent out to all retailers in South Africa for the Thursday 27 September launch date, for both Borderlands 2 and F1 2012.

Megarom has confirmed that they will be receiving their entire original allocation of stock for launch on 27 September, so any pre-orders on regular launch, special, collector’s editions of games should be fulfilled by the respective retailers that took the order.

It means that all previously allocated stock will be arriving in South Africa; Megarom confirmed there will be no shortfalls on the original stock order. It means that if you pre-ordered a special or collector’s edition, and that order was confirmed by your chosen retailer, you should still get that order fulfilled – there should be no stock shortage issues.
