SA retailers extend Borderlands 2 pre-orders

19 September 2012

Today (19 September 2012), Megarom Interactive announced that due to circumstances out of their control in the shipping channel, Borderlands 2 (and F1 2012) have been delayed for South African retail release until Thursday, 27 September 2012.

Megarom has confirmed that they will be receiving their entire original allocation of stock, so any pre-orders on special and collector’s editions of games should be fulfilled by the respective retailers that took the order.

We got in touch with some of South Africa’s largest retailers, who confirmed that they will be extending pre-orders on Borderlands 2.

A BT Games representative said that under such circumstances where games are delayed, their online team will be adjusting product pages and extending pre-orders up until the new product launch date. This of course does not mean that there will be extra stock of special and collector’s editions.

A Kalahari.com representative confirmed that they have been affected by the shipping delay, and will be now be working to fulfil all pre-orders by the new launch date of 27 September. Kalahari said they will be communicating with customers shortly to let them know of the delay and the new delivery date. Pre-orders on Borderlands 2 will be extended

An AnimeWorx representative confirmed that they have already extended their pre-orders, and highlighted that they still have some Vault Editions of the game available, along with the regular launch edition.

Takelot did not respond by the time of publication.

What about the option of cancelling a pre-order? Given the situation, I’d like the money to be put back into my account so that I can purchase it on Steam instead. Beyond their control or not, I’m not getting the item at the agreed upon date.
