The Last Guardian is not dead

21 September 2012

An interesting game that seems to have a knack of making a no-show at every big gaming expo is The Last Guardian.

When the game failed to make an appearance at Sony’s press event at the Tokyo Game Show 2012, gamers’ hopes began to wither away, but a Sony dev has reassured that the game is still in development.

“I give you my word that it exists,” said the Japanese developer, who wanted to be unnamed. “We are working on it.”

The dev also confirmed that Fumito Ueda, the game’s creator, is still working on the project despite having officially left Sony.

The Last Guardian was also described as a “very ambitious project” by the developer, and that “there are lots of pieces to the puzzle… it’s a matter of getting them to fit together.”

So, even though the game has come and gone from the limelight since being announced in 2009, Sony seem to be dedicated to bringing the action adventure game to life.
