Peter Molyneux’s next big thing, Curiosity: What’s in the Cube, is scheduled to launch for iOS sometime this month, but in the meantime, everybody wants to know… what’s in the cube? WHAT’S IN THE CUBE? The ‘Neux isn’t saying, of course, although he’s ruled out some of the more obvious possibilities, including “a huge pile of money”, a sports car, a dead cat, and Half-Life 3.
The update comes via last weekend’s Eurogamer Expo, where Molyneux answered questions about the game “experiment” at a developer panel.
Curiosity: What’s in the Cube features a gigantic black cube that players must tap away at to reveal some mysterious thing that’s apparently “so amazing I think it will appear on news reports,” Molyneux has previously claimed.
The cube is reportedly made up of 60 billions parts, which is big enough for every person on the planet to tap 10 times. Accounting for those children in Africa who don’t have iPhones, and those people who aren’t interested in tapping a gigantic black cube on the promise of something “amazing”, that probably leaves around five or six people who will have to tap the cube billions of times.
As the cube’s size is reduced, there will also be other “surprises” waiting for players, although Molyneux hasn’t confirmed if these things might be money, cars, dead cats, or Half-Life 3. It seems somewhat unlikely.
