Valve has released an update for Counter Strike: GO, adding two new maps and a new matchmaking option into the chaos.

The new maps include a remake of the classic Counter Strike map Vertigo, as well as a new arms race map entitled Monastery. A sneak peek at Vertigo was previously posted to the official Counter-Strike Twitter account.

Tweaks to the Classic Competitive matchmaking include a “queue” system, along with a 30-minute cooldown period if you abandon a match, which can be avoided if you re-join that same match.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive was released in August amid high anticipation by long-time fans of the franchise. The newest iteration of the hit FPS has seen some great changes from its predecessors in terms of gameplay, but Valve emphasised to not make too many changes as to prevent the game from being imbalanced.

The update is now available on Steam.
