According to the official blurb, yesterday’s Xbox dashboard update didn’t add anything of real consequence to the console (unless you’re the only person on the planet who thinks Internet Explorer is a good browser), but maybe the unofficial feature list is much more useful – over on NeoGAF, a user has posted a screenshot showing that USB HDD support has apparently doubled from 16 GB to 32 GB.
Of course, this is still officially unofficial for the moment, but the size limit increase may or may not be related to Halo 4’s somewhat controversial 8 GB mandatory installation for multiplayer.
Regardless of the reasons for it, the added space should be a very welcome upgrade for those people who have old Xbox consoles with no hard drive, or people with the new Xbox “S” console with only 4 GBs of storage, or people like me who have already used up most of the 250 GB hard drive on their regular Xbox consoles. Everybody wins.
