Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be “a major disappointment”

As EA prepares to drop its anticipated Medal of Honor follow-up to the 2010 reboot, a financial analyst believes that the game will not live up to its sales expectations.

“Medal of Honor: Warfighter appears likely to be a major disappointment,” said analyst Doug Creutz of Cowen and Company.

Creutz goes on to say that the expectations of 3-4 million units from EA is way too high, and that the game will “struggle” to reach 2 million worldwide sales.

Creutz also noted that EA apparently declined to send review copies of Medal of Honor to critics ahead of the game’s release, meaning that reviews won’t appear before the game is already on store shelves.

“The decision to make early review copies unavailable does not suggest to us that the company has a high degree of confidence in the quality of the game,” explained Creutz.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter is being developed by Danger Close and is scheduled for a 25 October 2012 release.

Danger Close also recently detailed the pre-order incentives and Limited Edition of Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
