Windows 8 Pro Groupon special in SA

Microsoft will launch its new Windows 8 operating system on 26 October 2012, and local consumers will get a chance to pick up a copy at up to 70% off the recommended retail price through a Groupon deal.

Groupon South Africa announced that it will offer the long-awaited Windows 8 Pro Microsoft software to consumers on 25 October at up to 70% off the recommended retail price of R2,000.

This means that South African consumers will be able to purchase a copy of Windows 8 Pro from Groupon for around R600. It is understood that the pricing may differ slightly based on the currency exchange rate at the time of the promotion (ZAR and USD).

According to the company, the Windows 8 Pro Groupon deal will go live at 00:00 on 25 October, and there should not be any limit on the number of copies available at the promotional price.

Groupon SA confirmed that The Windows 8 Pro deal is the full package that gets delivered in a box to the customers address.

Computer retailer Incredible Connection recently said that it will sell the Windows 8 Pro upgrade at a launch price of R699.95.

Incredible Connection said that it will not stock stand-alone editions of the latest edition of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
