Another iteration of a Playstation 4 development kit has been sent out to developers, according to VG247’s sources.
The dev kit, currently referred to as “Orbis”, is said to be housed in a normal PC case.
The kit is reportedly based on AMD’s A10 APU series, which is a combined CPU and GPU, and is “derivative” of existing A10 hardware.
The “ultimate goal” for the hardware is for it to be able to run 1080p games at 60-frames per second in 3D with “no problem.”
The dev kits have either 8Gb or 16Gb of RAM, as well as the console sticking with Blu-ray.
In terms of the interface, a new addition is said to be the ability to press the PS button mid-game, and access the PS store to buy DLC, then seamlessly returning to your game.
Sources also said that this is the second dev kit that has been sent out, with a third iteration to go out in January, which is expected to be close to final spec.
Orbis is expected to be announced at an event “just before E3″ next year.
