Sony has said that it will permanently ban PS3 hackers, and has offered offenders one last way out before it’s too late.
The PS3 lv0 boot loader key leak and the ability for hacked consoles to play online alongside legitimate users has caused concern for Sony, and the company issued a statement saying that the permanent ban is its current agenda to deal with the problem.
Sony’s announcement also comes as a last warning for users who have hacked PS3 consoles, as the statement recommends a chance to remove the firmware or hacking elements.
“To avoid permanent termination, consumers must immediately cease using and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from their PlayStation 3 systems.”
In late October, Sony was also finally cleared of the class action lawsuit against the company over the 2011 PlayStation Network hack.
