Sales for the game have been somewhat underwhelming, so this is your chance to show that you take Death very seriously indeed. As you should. You wouldn’t want the Grim Reaper to come for you some day, and then have to admit that you didn’t buy his game, now would you? When your very immortal soul is at stake, it’s better to play it safe. Or play Darksiders II for that matter.
