Next Call of Duty will be… another Modern Warfare game

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Soap McTavish

The plastic wrappers are just barely off Call of Duty: Black Ops II, but there’s apparently already another Call of Duty game in development for launch next year, and it’ll be another Modern Warfare title. Sit down, your legs are shaking.

According to a report on Siliconera, Activision has been recording voice work for the project, which features a “a battle hardened veteran in his mid-thirties with a nihilistic point of view.” So, basically, the exact same protagonist we’ve seen in every Call of Duty game so far. Consistency, people!

Interestingly, the game will also include a flashback sequence starring Modern Warfare’s late John “Soap” McTavish. Not even death can stop the Soaphawk, baby.

Last month, Billy Murray – the man who voices the indestructible Captain Price – revealed that he’d been doing work on a new Modern Warfare game, but Activision later denied everything, claiming they’d “not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation.”

Uh-huh. Pull the other one, it’s got hand grenades on it.
