The Metal Gear series has taken a serious turn with Raiden’s upcoming spin-off adventure, and it has definitely got us intrigued – and now even more so because the Limited Edition of the game will be making its way to South African shores.

The Limited Edition Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance comes with a 30cm figurine of Raiden from Play Arts KAI series. The figurine of Raiden is wearing the same special White Armour which will also be available with a special DLC code to use in the game. Using the armour in the game will allow Raiden to carry extra life-recovery items.

There will also be two different pre-order incentives and steelbook cover options to choose from.

The first features a Raiden illustration by the game’s character concept artist, Yoji Shinkawa, and the DLC unlocks Raiden’s Inferno Armour, giving him increased capacity to hold throwing weapons. This will be exclusively available via BT Games when pre-ordered.

The second steelbook is available when pre-ordered from other leading gaming outlets, and features a render of Raiden, and has a DLC code for the Raiden Commando Armour, which allows his access to a larger number of projectile weapons.

Instead of being developed by Kojima’s studio, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is being developed by Platinum Games, who most recently handled Bayonetta and Vanquish.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled for a 21/22 February 2013 release date.
