Nintendo’s COO Reggie Fils-Aime has backed the Wii U’s graphical power, claiming that it significantly improves the visuals of certain third-party games from the 360 and PS3 versions.
In an interview with CNN, Fils-Aime explained that the Wii U has very different specs when compared to the 360 and PS3, and even improves the visual quality of multiplatform games.
“Third-party games, like Call of Duty, look dramatically better on [the Wii U],” the COO said, also highlighting that the Wii U is “much more graphically intensive”.
Fils-Aime was also asked about the concern that the Wii U could become dated in comparison to Sony and Microsoft’s next-gen consoles when released. Reggie responded by saying “in terms of what competition is going to do in the future, we’ll see. We know that the two-screen gaming experience is really the next innovation that consumers are gravitating to.”
The Nintendo Wii U launches in South Africa on 30 November 2012.
