Steam Big Picture Mode launched

Valve has finally launched its Steam Big Picture Mode service after a lengthy beta.

The beta began in September, and after the bugs have been squashed and some tweaks and touch-ups added, it’s now available to users.

Steam Big Picture Mode allows Steam and the games on offer to become compatible for larger screens. This means that you can hook up your computer to your TV and enjoy some serious gaming from your couch.

To add to the momentous occasion, Valve is also celebrating with a sale (obviously). The sale lasts until 10 December and all the discounted games are getting full controller support, so you can plug in your gamepad and get going with ease.

Steam lists 42 games with full controller support, and another 380 games with partial controller support. If you pick up a game with partial controller support, be aware that while they’re compatible with controllers, they may need a mouse and keyboard at times.
