Cape Town’s aspiring Pixelated Gaming Xperience expo has been cancelled at the last minute.

The event was planned to be a gaming expo and community meet-up offering Cape Town gamers something unique in terms of events.

The official website currently has no news regarding the cancellation, but a statement was issued to Bandwidth Blog:

It is with great regret that we must inform you that the Expo scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled. As you can imagine this is most disappointing to ourselves and the various exhibitors, developers and other interested parties involved in the event. However, this is beyond our control.

The event was scheduled to happen from Friday, 7 December, to Sunday 9 December, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Don’t cry just yet, as there’s a few other things to do this weekend.
