If you didn’t already get your banhammer schadenfreude quota filled today (and let’s be honest, that’s simply not possible), here’s another story to warm the blackened bit of coal where your heart should be – Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley has publicly outed and banned a “scumbag” Planetside 2 cheater on Twitter, so everybody on the planet knows he’s a total lamer.
“Haruhi at artificialaiming.com was just banned,” Smedley announced. “All 3 of his accounts. Goodbye you scumbag. Find a new hobby or get good at the game.”
Buuuuuuurn.
Haruhi is an admin at Artificial Aiming, a site that sells hacks for a number of online multiplayer games including Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Counter-Strike, making him not just a scumbag cheater but a scumbag businessman too. He’s not the only person cheating at Planetside 2, of course, but Sony’s team apparently is on the job.
“Those of you using aimbots are being hunted down and banned,” Smedley added. “Remember to use /report. People are being banned left and right.”
You’ve been warned, etc. Not that it ever stops anybody, but, you know.
