John McAfee arrested in Guatemala

John McAfee

After three weeks on the run, John McAfee has been nabbed by ACME agents police in Guatemala. McAfee is wanted in Belize for questioning in connection with the ongoing murder investigation of his former neighbour, and/or possibly some sort of major conspiracy to kill him involving the government and local cops (depending on who you believe).

He was caught out after a cellphone image of McAfee and a VICE reporter embedded with GPS data was published by the website, inadvertently disclosing his location to the entire planet. News earlier this week that he’d been captured in Mexico was evidently a false positive.

McAfee has apparently applied for political asylum, but according to reports the Guatemalan Interior Ministry, plans to pack him off back to Belize instead. Although no international arrest warrant has been issued, McAfee can be expelled from Guatemala simply for crossing the border illegally.

Clearly he should never have dug himself out of his garden.
