Mass Effect 4 coming in late 2014 to mid-2015

Bioware has said that development for the next instalment in the Mass Effect series is underway, and a studio employee has dealt some details on when to expect the game.

In an interview with GamerSyndrome, ME3 producer Mike Gamble said that the next Mass Effect release will ship in late-2014 at earliest, but possibly mid-2015.

I honestly can’t tell you an exact [date] because full development on the game started a month or two ago,” said Gamble.

So it seems like we’ll have to wait a fair bit before getting back into the ME universe.

Bioware also recently revealed that development duties have moved over to BioWare Montreal, as the Canadian studio will take over the franchise from BioWare Edmonton.

The next ME game will run on a beefed-up version of the Frostbite engine, and it will be “enhanced by some of the systems the Dragon Age III team has already spent a lot of time building.”
