Ubisoft have put a lot of effort into making Splinter Cell Blacklist the premier stealth game, and their effort is really starting to show.
In a new developer diary style video, Ubisoft shows off how much the in-game environment affects Sam Fisher as he goes about merrily almost-killing people and slipping through the shadows.
The game’s camera will reach to effects such as rain, flashlight glare and flares in the darkness, providing an extra layer of immersion and forcing players to consider their surroundings carefully, not just admire their prettiness.
Art director Scott Lee chimes in on the lighting, something the franchise has a well-respected history of doing right.
Ubisoft have given excited fans a lot of behind-the-scenes video and commentary about the development of the latest entry into the Splinter Cell franchise, no doubt generating plenty of hype for the game’s release, which is expected to be sometime in early 2013.
