Modern art created by pinball machine

3 January 2013

In news that would make Jackson Pollock proud, an art student has devised a unique and creative way of generating some abstract modern art.

Sam van Doorn, a graphic designer and student, build an art installation called STYN, which is essentially a pinball machine that uses paint covered pinballs to create works of art.

“By creating new tools, you give yourself the opportunity to break free from standards in design,” said van Doorn on his blog.

“By playing the machine the balls create an unpredictable pattern, dependent on the interaction between the user and the machine,” van Doorn added. “The better you are as a player, the better the poster that you create.”
