Despite the notion that The Old Republic’s jump to a free-to-play model is a sign that the game’s popularity is slipping, the game’s producer assures that things are going well, and same-sex romances are on their way.
Jeff Hickman, an executive producer at Bioware, wrote a “State of the Game” blog entry regarding the large-scale Star Wars MMO, in which he confirmed that the extended romance options will be included in the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion.
“We are adding [same-gender romances] with some NPCs on Makeb and do intend on pursuing more SGR options in the future,” Hickman said.
The producer also apologised for the feature taking so long to reach the game, and that Bioware is fully supportive of the addition.
The Rise of the Hutt Cartel add-on increases the massively multiplayer online role-playing game’s level cap to 55, adds a new planet called Makeb, and features fully-voiced conversations.
Hickman also jumped into some of the details that will be included with the incoming updates.
