About Edge of Twilight

The Edge of Twilight series is a multiplatform, diverse-genre series of steampunk titles, all taking place in the same world, one in which night and day exist as separate realms. The series will not commit to a set genre, but instead focus on developing and fleshing out the series’ characters and world itself.

The first title will focus around Lex, a half-breed who can bridge the gap between the realms of darkness and light. This forthcoming title will be an action/adventure game with heavy focus on gameplay, story, and puzzles.

Speaking to Eurogamer, developer Wei-Yao Lu explained the game further. “A lot of games that blur the lines between good and evil will focus more on giving you two choices that are obviously good and bad. What we’re doing is putting the player in a world were nothing is, or has been, done without justification. A lot of the atrocities in the game (as well as the good things) are things that we see in our own world and in our own societies. There are two sides to every story, basically.”

The story is core to the game, and Fuzzyeyes has ambitious ideas to blur the lines between side-quest and main-quest plot lines. The game features a “persona” system, whereby Lex becomes a different character depending on the game realm he is visiting.

“As the day persona, reflecting the industrial race, you’re strong and forceful with the ability to operate machinery, break the scenery and bludgeon enemies in a manner that’s less than graceful. As the night persona you represent the spiritual race and your movement is much more swift and agile, opening up new areas to explore, and your fighting style also reflects this. Many environments will require you to use both of these abilities and your brain to find an exit, which allowed us to make some mind-bending environmental puzzles that span over the two realms,” explained Wei-Yao Lu.

Wei-Yao Lu described the game as a combination of ICO, Soul Reaver and God of War. The game will not feature any multiplayer modes.
