Angry Birds smashes Christmas period

4 January 2013

Rovio’s avian-flinging phenomenon isn’t slowing down, as Angry Birds nailed some milestones over the Christmas period.

Angry Birds saw 30 million downloads over the week of 22-29 December, with Christmas Day racking up 8 million downloads within 24 hours.

Rovio also thanked bird-flingers everywhere for the on-going support.

“It’s been an amazing year and we can’t thank our fans enough for their fantastic support. Stay tuned in 2013 for even more incredible surprises,” said Rovio.

The developer’s other spin-offs, Angry Birds Star Wars and Bad Piggies saw themselves dominating the iPhone charts since their releases.
