LG laser projector

Korean electronics company LG has revealed that it will launch its “Hecto” laser TV projector this month (January 2012) in Korea, followed by a March 2013 launch in the United States.

LG unveiled the projector last week (2 January 2013) during its pre-CES announcement, but did not reveal launch or pricing information.

According to LG, the 1080p projector is capable of creating a 100-inch screen from just 22 inches (56cm) away.

The device also features a digital tuner and 10w speakers built-in, with three HDMI inputs, an RS–232 port and Smart TV capabilities.

The projector carries a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio with WiDi and Miracast compatibility.

LG claims the laser system will run for up to 25,000 hours without replacement.
