Just when you thought you had caught them all, Nintendo goes and announces two new entries into the Pokemon universe – X and Y – which are set to appear on the 3DS this October.
Announced via the Pokemon Direct presentation, these two new titles mark the first 3D entries into the Pokemon series and will incorporate the 3D capabilities of the platform.
A video showing the two games was presented by Nintendo Chief Satoru Iwata, which showed off the new starter Pokemon, some of the environments and a few friendly faces.
The three generation 6 starter Pokemon are Chespin (grass-type), Fennekin (fire-type) and Froakie (water-type).
Pokemon X and Y are scheduled to launch worldwide in October.
