MWEB GameZone in partnership with the MSSA will be providing the servers for the Battlefield 3 Nation’s Cup tournament taking place this weekend, Saturday 12 January 2013. The servers are hosted on Dell 5670’s (12 physical cores) with 96GB of RAM.
The MSSA has said that all top Battlefield 3 PC teams in SA are expected to enter the qualifying event. The winning team shall officially represent South Africa in the Nations Cup and will receive National Federation Colours.
MWEB GameZone will further support the official South African National Team preparations by providing the qualifying team with their own Battlefield 3 Clan server, a practice server in the UK (to acclimatise to playing with a high ping), as well as a dedicated channel on the MWEB GameZone Public Teamspeak server for the duration of the Nation’s Cup.
Desmond Kurz, MWEB online gaming manager said, “GameZone wants to help South African gamers compete on the international stage, which is why we will continue to work closely with MSSA to get more teams involved in the other games offered for the Nation’s Cup.”
