WebAfrica’s e-sport focus for SA gaming

23 January 2013

WebAfrica’s 2013 goals include a revised focus on the competitive gaming scene in South Africa and continuing to deliver services to SA gamers.

Speaking with WAGE Games Master Robert Tait, MyGaming asked what WebAfrica may have in the works for hungry local gamers.

“We’re planning on becoming more involved in the local competitive scene and would like to contribute to local leagues, tournaments and competitions in an effort to encourage e-sports and competitive gaming,” said Tait.

Tait emphasised that WebAfrica’s focus will lie on clans and competitive-based gaming communities.

“We do expect to be able to provide game servers for newly released game titles shortly; however, we’re not able to say at this stage what we may be able to bring to the table.”

“We will most certainly let the community know as we move further into the first quarter,” added Tait.

Tait also said that the goal at WebAfrica is to maintain the services WebAfrica currently offers, and keep delivering to SA gamers.

“We will continue our quest to provide gamers with what they want, locally.”

Seriously though, R1m bonus for the guy who convinces Blizzard EU – developing markets to launch a footprint in Africa.
