Microsoft, Reach for a Dream give SA gamer huge surprise

Microsoft SA and the Reach for a Dream foundation teamed up to brighten the life of a 10-year-old SA gamer who suffers from Stage 2 Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

The gamer, Keagan Gillepsie, suffers from the progressive disease, which affects muscular development. Keagan recently underwent surgery to help straighten his spine; but shortly after the operation, he fell, shattering both of his legs.

Keagan informed Reach for a Dream that he was a massive Halo fan* and wanted nothing more than to have a Halo party with Master Chief.

Microsoft SA and Reach for a Dream worked together to fulfil this wish and make Keagan’s 10th Birthday one to remember – with Master Chief making an appearance.

On top of having the chief himself at his party, Xbox SA gave Keagan a 250GB Xbox console bundled with Halo 4, Halo Reach collector’s edition, and Forza Horizon. Reach for a Dream also supplied Halo toys, movies, books and other paraphernalia.

*Keagan’s family signed a consent form to allow him to play Halo.
