The MSSA Management Board, following input from Battlefield 3 SA Team Captain Barry Louzada, has finalised the team selection for the 2013 Nation’s Cup tournament.
The SA squad has been allocated to Group C, along with Bulgaria, Spain, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, and Russia – none are billed as easy matches.
The team’s first match is against Russia. The Match is to be played online in the period between 4 to 11 February 2013.
All players representing South Africa will receive National Federation Colours.
Louzada who first received National Federation Colours in 2006, has also represented South Africa at the 2007 Asian Games. Thus this award of National Federation Colours will be his third. Louzada will be entitled to wear the Honours Badge. He is only the fifth SA eSports Player that has qualified for the award, and the first person to be awarded such award for eSports since 2008.
Once again, MWEB stepped up to support the South African team. MWEB will provide the team with their own Battlefield 3 Clan server, a practice server in the UK (to acclimatise to playing with a high ping), as well as a dedicated channel on the MWEB GameZone Public Teamspeak server for the duration of the Nation’s Cup.
