The Last of Us Ellie edition

The Last of Us – PS3 (7 May 2013)

The Last of Us takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, following a viral outbreak which wiped out most of humanity.

The world is now an overgrown mess as nature reclaims the land. Players will take on the role of Joel, as he has to escort a young girl named Ellie to a particular quarantined zone.

Both characters will come into play, allowing Joel to command and assist Ellie in helping the two on their journey.

Developed by Naughty Dog (Uncharted series), The Last of Us also features gorgeous visuals – something that the studio is known for. Visceral and brutal combat is on offer to make the steel-stomached gamers cringe.

  • Johann Botha

    I can’t wait, wait what R699.00? ok, I think I can wait….

  • Very steep price :/ I might have to wait until it hits the bargain bin.

  • GamingGenius

“PS3 Exclusive” Lol, it’s only a matter of time before an Xbox version is released. This will become too popular to not release on both machines

  • GamingGenius

Unless the distributors are kind enough to send you a review copy? 😛

  • Trebzz

If we were getting the Pandemic Edition it would have been a gauranteed buy from me so it sucks that we aren’t :/

  • LAblak22

That’s what they said with Uncharted and here we still sit with that our exclusive. 😛

  • LAblak22

All the games this year are R200 more expensive.:/

  • GamingGenius

PS3 was at it’s prime then. Now publishers want the most out of their consoles in the last stretch of this generation. Trust me, I know a lot more about gaming than you. It will be coming to Xbox

  • LAblak22

I agree, but by that logic, Gears and Halo etc would have arrived on PS3 already. And do not insert a faux sense of superiority please; I implore you. And The Last of Us is going to remain a PS3 exclusive. Trust me, I know a lot more about Naughty Dog than you. It will not be coming to Xbox.

  • GamingGenius

Naughty Dog is a developer. Not a publisher. If they are given enough incentive to put a game on another platform and their publisher is paid enough, they will put it on PS3.

Also, Halo is owned by Microsoft, and Gears of War isn’t possible on PS3 because the PS3 can’t handle the game. The developer said that when Gears 1 was released. Don’t believe me? Google it

  • LAblak22

What’s your gripe, dude? Seriously; grow
up. And I know for a fact that Naughty Dog has an exclusive contract with SONY
and this game, much like EVERY major Naughty Dog title is tied to the PS brand by law — as in contractually obligated and locked excluisve rights not transferable. Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, Crash Team Racing, Jak and Daxter: The
Precursor Legacy, Jak II, Jak 3, Jak X: Combat Racing, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s
Deception, Jak and Daxter Collection, The Last of Us are all PS exclusiveness and will remain so.

And for the love of Batman do not reply. I’m not going to get into an argument over the internet with a 12 year old with Google.

  • GamingGenius

Don’t say ridiculous things like “do not reply.” You clearly understand lack understanding of your so-called “law.” You just need to understand that you’re talking through your ass and that this game absolutely WILL ship on the Xbox. BTW. I’m no “12 year old with Google.”

I’m quite a successful with a BCom IT degree. Something you could clearly could do with, please, educate yourself.

  • LAblak22

Bcom? [whistle noise] Okay then kid. I’ll just go tell my inside man that he’s wrong. Thanks for setting me straight, son. Golly, I sure was wrong. 😀

  • GamingGenius

You are… And why sound so condescending towards BCom, they’ll make money than someone of your intellect ever will.

  • LAblak22

The irony here is you degrade my intelligence based on the “fact” that you have a B.Com in IT and under the assumption that you “know more” about games than I? Well, I guess your 1 qualification trumps my two and your Google machine defeats not only mine, but the knowledge of Andy G. You sir have have seemingly won regardless of the momentous odds stacked so unfairly in your favour. I do so applaud you, old bean.

  • GamingGenius

A+ and N+ certificates are not real qualifications my man. Don’t let yourself be fooled. If it’s not a degree from a recognised university, it’s not worth mentioning.

  • LAblak22

Yeah. B.Soc degrees are worth nothing I guess. [sigh]

  • Dinky

Lol. They aren’t. When I was in university we had a saying. “What’s the difference between a pizza and a psychology degree? The pizza can feed a family of four”

  • LAblak22

    Yeah. Guess you’re right. [sigh]

  • Dinky

Lol, I ain’t here to fight with you bro. Just find your tattle with this gaming genius to be quite hilarious.

  • LAblak22

Oh no, I know. I too find his menderings funny. Also, all its messages prior this “thread” have all been troll posts, so I take this guy as seriously as Fox news. O_o

  • Alpha-Dog1292

How sure are these guys that that is the correct prices? I dont want to pre-order it and put down a deposit and then it turns out to cost like R999,95
