The Witcher 3, subtitled “Wild Hunt”, is in development over at CD Projekt RED, as confirmed by Game Informer.
The Witcher 3 will launching in 2014 for PC and “all high-end platforms available”, said CD Projekt RED. This is no doubt an allusion to the inevitable announce of next-gen consoles. Considering that 2011’s The Witcher 2 was a veritable Crysis of the RPG world on PC, we can probably expect some amazing visuals to accompany Geralt of Rivia on his adventure.
The Witcher 3 is being built on a new 3D Engine named REDengine 3 (wihich will debut with the game), and boasts a game world 30 times larger than that of The Witcher 2. The environments will range from “stormy islands to war-torn forests and a sprawling dark fantasy metropolis without a loading screen anywhere to be found,” according to Game Informer.
The March 2013 issue of Game Informer will carry the in-depth preview of the game, so we can expect scans of the magazine to hit the internet around that time. Below is a video detailing Game Informer’s upcoming coverage of the game, and giving a look at some concept art from the game.
