Games you can play this week

Following on from the week of soppy love, its time to get down to business, and Crysis 3 is bringing the maximum manliness, while Metal Gear Rising is set to prove that you can solve anything with a ninja sword.

Crysis 3 – (22 February 2013)

Crysis returns this week, and PC gamers should be enjoying some one-on-one time with their rigs before they’re put to the test.

The third primary instalment of the Crysis series (a spinoff, Crysis: Warhead, was released after the first game) will pick up after the events of Crysis 2, where Prophet is on a revenge mission after uncovering the truth behind Cell Corporation’s motives for building giant, area-separating quarantine, Nanodomes, which are the corporation’s attempt to seize valuable technology for their own use.

In order to deal with the threats that lie within the domes, Prophet will have to make use of a combination of high-tech human and alien weaponry, including the lethal composite bow.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – (22 February 2013)

Instead of Snake, Raiden will step into the limelight in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and players can soon get their hands on some sword-slashing action when it drops this week.

Being developed by Platinum Games (Vanquish, Bayonetta), the goal for Rising was to allow players to actually do the things that gamers could only watch in cutscenes in previous Metal Gear games.

So prepare to slice through walls, enemies, helicopters and just about anything you can imagine.

SA gamers will be glad to know that the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Limited Edition has been confirmed for SA. There are two different pre-order options available.
